Story: Tale of Tales starts as we meet Queen of Longtrellis (Hayek) as she sends her Kingn (Reilly) to defeat a monster. In the aftermath, she must raise her child alone, which leads to a series of odd events. Elsewhere, King of Highhills (Jones) has befriended a flea that continues to grow. He keeps it secret as his own pet.
Meanwhile, King of Strongcliff (Cassel) finds himself enchanted by witches. As he falls for one, he learns the truth and ends up paying the price for not following through. The three stories continue to roll on, with each giving us a more disturbing world for the royalty involved.
Verdict on Tale of Tales
Tale of Tales is a series of three twisted fantasy horror tales from a royal era. Each one follows a ruler as they deal with a different situation that spirals out of their control. With the message about what could be changed to try and fix their lives.
These stories end up being a weird series of stories. Each one does offer something new in the message that could bring about a wider message on how to treat people. It points out how royal families would get away with more than they could imagine and escaping it could cause even more pain. The effects are odd and the story keeps us wanting to know where things will go next.
