Take Me to the Zoo

Focusing more on writing this week has been interesting so far. I don’t want to say too much, because I plan to talk about it in my vlog at the end of the week, but I’ve been re-reading Sweet Ireland Air so that I can get back into the characters and finish the book… and I’ve realized I’m very much not a collaborator.

I’ll expound on that more in my vlog later… but let’s just say it becomes a surprisingly touchy subject when my husband (out of love for ideas and excitement) starts to suggest ways I can change the story.

But I’ve never been very good at taking someone else’s idea and running with it. I like my own ideas. I like writing about things out of my head, because… they’re mine? I plan to talk a lot about this in the vlog, so I won’t say more.

I’m just stubborn and bad at accepting constructive input from people I know, ha!

So can we talk about how fantastic this skirt is and the fact that I got it for under a dollar… and it still had the tags attached? Yeah. Best. Find. Ever. Seriously. My local St. Vincent has a day where as much clothing as you can fit in a bag is only $3. So I got that jumpsuit, this skirt, and 5 silky scarves for a steal!

And yes, there was a whole lot of twirling going on.

I also have to talk about this adorable giraffe shirt from Oasap, because first: giraffes in top hats! Secondly, I quite like the quality of it… but my one beef is that the measurements given are definitely off. My bust measurement is currently 40″ with a bra, but online it says the medium — which I got on the hopes it would fit — has a bust of 35″. And it actually fits me perfectly and is a bit looser around the waist than I like. But it’s a comfortable tee and the looser fit makes it more flattering with jeans, so I’m ok with that.

I also really love this bag! My last purse was also from Oasap, and I used it so much the straps wore out, so it was high time to find another one! I have a hard time committing to purses; I want bags that will go with whatever I’m wearing unless it’s an evening look because it’s too much trouble for me to switch out my purse every time I wear a new outfit. So I wasn’t finding anything for the longest time until I saw this pretty snap-top bag online.

I plan to do a “What’s in my purse” post with it, because seriously… I can fit a book in this purse, you guys. A book! Best purse ever!
