DURING March, Daphne’s is hosting a unique, Italian-style experience as the perfect gift for Mamma for Mother’s Day. For Italians, the importance of family can never be underestimated, providing trust, origins of culture and ultimately, love. Italian culture, the heritage of Daphne’s restaurant, proclaims the Mother as the matriarch; the chef, the figurehead of la famiglia. In her honour, replace chocolate boxes and candles and treat your Mother to a day of Florentine flower arranging, Italian Tile Painting, Limoncello and a delicious three-course lunch at Daphne’s on the 12th, 19th and 26th March.
UPON arrival, Mamma will be taken into the restaurant’s pretty conservatory for a class in Florence floristry, hosted by accomplished London florist FlowerBoy. Guests will be inspired to create a floral arrangement with a stunning array of blooms such as the scented garden roses of Juliet and O’Hara, to textural trailing ferns and lilting lilacs. Each bouquet shall be then finished and wrapped to be taken home as a stunning memento for Mamma.
THE experience continues with ceramic tile painting in the famous rustic Italian style. Guests will be given a brief history of Italian tile painting, followed by the opportunity to paint their very own design with guidance from ceramics painter Ester Svensson, with their own hand painted tile to take home.
FOLLOWING a morning of discovering artistic flair, mothers and their guests will be welcomed into the charming dining room to enjoy an exquisite three-course lunch involving all the fantastic flavours of Italy, from traditional Tuscan Bean Minestrone Verde, to fresh Chicken Scallopini with fregola and Sicilian lemon torte all accompanied with a glass of wine, selected specially to complement the dishes. To finish, guests will be offered the perfect digestive to sip slowly on by way of chilled Tuscan Limoncello, and presented with their floral and ceramic pieces to take home
