An afternoon in Tai O. Hong Kong's stilt village. One of my favorite things about living in Hong Kong is that you're pretty much just a ferry ride away from a fun, adventure day out. At the weekend, we decided to hop on at Central to explore the nearby fisherman village of Tai O, situated in the South West of Lantau Island. We got a ferry at Pier 6 in Central, caught the #1 bus and hopped off in balmy heat. Ideal. Kinda. (Not.)

Managed to get the money shot at Central pier of one of the Star Ferries that makes many 7-minute journeys across the water every day. Probably end up catching one of these at least once a week.

Firstly, we took a HK$25 boat trip around the Stilt Village and out around the imminent water in the hope of spotting some of Hong Kong's endangered pink dolphins. Sadly luck wasn't on our side this time! I'm absolutely fascinated by the stilt houses, first built years and years ago to accommodate the locals who made their living from the sea.

Noticed you could pick up a husband for HK$25. Boat trip, husband, it's all the same. And cheaper than British Vogue.

Obligatory outfit photos. Nts: always pick touristy places because you will not be judged for posing. Everyone else does it too and they probably don't even have a blog!

Putting selfie mode on my Samsung NX Mini to good use ;)

An insanely good doughnut that cost me HK$9. I could maybe eat these forever, they were spongey and doughey and perfectly sweet!

Took a little walk to see the grazing plains and a flat water area.

Another selfie in which I look 5 y/o. Wearing my new favorite Etude House lipstick: pink lip season ahoy!

I snapped this on the pier of a cute little old man. Tai O has the loveliest, serene atmosphere about it that makes me want to unwind and appreciate non-digital things a little more.

We then attempted to photograph the sunset but the sun literally disappeared before it went down?!
