Tagg Romney, the eldest Romney son, recently told the Boston Globe that his father really didn’t want to be president.  Well that’s nice.  Thanks for wasting nearly a billion dollars for a job you didn’t want.  It really showed.  Tagg said that his father is a very private person and would rather remain outside the limelight.  His wife, Ann, had to convince him to run.

Tagg Romney does sure have a knack for saying a bit too much to the media.  After the second presidential debate, he said he wanted to take a “swipe” at the president.  He would later say it was all in “jest.”  Tagg tells the Boston Globe: “he wanted to be president less than anyone I’ve met in my life…If he could have found someone else to take his place . . . he would have been ecstatic to step aside.”

I think it is a pretty lame excuse to say that his father didn’t want to become president.  As if it was some selfless act to run for the good of the nation.  I don’t believe that argument.  Mitt Romney did not win the election because he didn’t convey to the majority of voters that he actually cared.  He didn’t convey that a term under Romney would be any better than another Obama term.  That’s why he ultimately lost.

For anyone thinking about becoming our next president, please don’t run if you don’t want the job.

It shows!

Could you tell Romney didn’t want to win?
