T-Boz On Her Battle With Sickle Cell “I Believed In God” [WATCH]

TLC member, T-Boz who has battled sickle cell since she was a teenager, was on The Breakfast Club earlier in the week, to discuss her memoir “A Sick Life.”  T-Boz whose real name is Tionne Watkins, shared with the radio show hosts that at 17 doctors diagnosed her with sickle cell, and told her she wouldn’t live past 30.  The singer shared that she didn’t listen to the doctors, instead opted to listen to the words of her mother.

God has the last say so in your life,” T-Boz echoed her mother’s words. “I grew up in church … my mom was the lead singer. I just believed what my mom said. I believed in God, and I believed that she was right, doctors practice medicine and that doesn’t have to be my story.”
