My girl Syleena Johnson just signed a new recording contract, and is prepping to bless us with new music!
The GRAMMY-nominated recording artist and daytime television host, known as the “Queen of Chicago,” and one of the most underrated singers of the new millennium – Syleena Johnson returns to music with the release of her 10th album, “WOMAN” this Fall. Syleena empowers and calls all women to stand up for themselves and to be bold, brave and fearless, declaring 2019 as the “Year of the Woman.”
Johnson states, “I am so excited that the ‘Woman’ album has found a new home with Entertainment One. Thank you to Gina Miller for believing in me and Entertainment One for helping me bring this project to life. Galatians 6:9 says, ‘Do not grow weary in well doing, for in due season you shall reap what you sow, if you faint not.’ I thank God for this season. The season of the Woman.”
As an established singer/songwriter, Johnson has nine albums to her name, including the critically acclaimed debut album, “Chapter 1: Love, Pain & Forgiveness,” and her most recent album “Rebirth of Soul” which features covers of classic Motown records. In 2004, Kanye West tapped Syleena to handle the vocals on the top-10 Billboard hit “All Falls Down,” which also garnered her and West a GRAMMY nomination and four MTV VMA nominations for the accompanying video. As a fitness enthusiast, Johnson launched, SheLean Health & Fitness, which helps women in the area of health, nutrition and fitness. SheLean Nutrition, Health, and Fitness is an online company created to cater to women of various demographics.
