After a series of unsuccessful films, Nandamuri Balakrishna is back in a powerful role which suits him best. Directed by Boyapati Srinu who earlier delivered Blockbuster Simha with NBK is the main reason why ‘Legend’ is being surrounded with such a huge hype. ‘Legend’ releasing this friday, 28th is combinely produced by big banners Varahi Chalana Chitram and 14 Reels raises the ante. Will The Lion roars again? Let’s see what are its Strengths and weaknesses.
Strength :
Combination of ‘Legend’ is its biggest strength. Boyapati Srinu’s biggest strength is delivering high voltage films with a touch of family emotions. These kind of films are well suited for senior hero like Balakrishna and this was proved with Simha. ‘Legend’ falls in the same category where Balakrishna’s previous biggest hits belong to, Hi-Voltage Action with family drama. Popular hero Jagapathi Babu acted in a powerful role as antagonist for the first time in his career and his rugged look suits him well.
Weakness :
Audio has not received well by the audience as makers have anticipated. For any successful combination, the biggest threat is comparisions with their previous work. Theatrical trailer draws some similarities in Balayya’s characterisation from Simha. These comparisions may lead to disappointment if story, Characters are similar to Simha.
Oppurtunity :
‘Legend’ will be the first Big Film releasing after almost 3 months. This is first film to release in summer season that too for Ugadi festival, which is a biggest opportunity to draw huge crowds at ticket window. Film will have a free run for two weeks till the next big release Race Gurram. Makers are planning a huge release to lap up these advantages with aggressive promotions.
Threat :
Local Elections which are scheduled to happen on March 30th and ongoing T20 World Cup may pose a severe threat to hamper collections at the box-office. In any case if the film gets a divide talk it will definitely lose the advantage of summer season because of the current Political heat currently the state is surrounded with.
