Botanical Winter Romance
Bowties, pocket squares, bow hair clip for flower girl (I used to make cat bow ties... in my past life as a single, crazy cat lady).
Table runners made by dividing a large roll of fabric into four long strips with a hacksaw. Nothing like a hacksaw to get that frayed edge look on the table runners.
Table greenery and decorations using seed lights and leafy plants from friend's back yards, gullies and driveways. Lovingly picked, cut and hacked in the pouring rain the day before.
Do you have any money saving tips for engaged couples?Budget, make a list for all expenses and write down your estimates, actual costs and wether it's been paid or not (Google docs is great, keeps everybody up-to-date).
Put money into what you think is important; ie. we aren't too fussed on cars so we used our own cars with some ribbon and 'hey presto' it's a wedding car. We set aside quite a bit of money for our honeymoon as the getaway was the next priority once the day was through. Tip: If possible try and avoid school holidays since flights and accommodation hugely go up in price depending on where you're going.
Have fun! Things can get a bit stressful planning a wedding. But you know what, it's one day. Don't hold onto perfection, things happen, plans change, be prepared to go with the flow, let go of expectations and enjoy yourself! At the end of the day, it's about your marriage - a commitment to each other, that's what counts... not what thread count the napkins will be.
