Last week I picked the first of my Sweet Pea flowers which have taken pride of place on my kitchen windowsill along with my penstemon cuttings (they are coming along nicely). I sowed “Ballerina Blue” back in January and although there were only 3 stems ready to pick I know in the weeks to come I will just keep getting more and more. They are so simple and elegant to look at with such a great fragrance, plus the more you pick the more you get…. how perfect!
I really do very little to be rewarded with all these flowers. I make sure I tie in the stems as they grow, I may feed a little later on depending on how the plants are looking but really I will just make sure I pick, pick and pick.
