Story: Swede Caroline starts when Caroline (Hartley) controversially gets disqualified from a vegetable competition. A filmmaker Kirsty (Murrell) decides to follow the aftermath and see how Caroline recovers from the situation. We get to meet the team Caroline works with, Paul (Lumsden) and Willy (Jones) as they prepare for the next year’s competition.

However, once the team starts following Caroline, a much bigger conspiracy becomes clear. People follow her, tracking her, and sabotaging her vegetables. She must fight for her right to appear at the latest competition to prove herself and defeat the reigning champion.

Verdict on Swede Caroline

Swede Caroline is a mockumentary following a vegetable farmer trying to prove she didn’t cheat in a competitive environment. She wants to rebuild her reputation and enter again one year later. However, she finds out about a much more sinister plot surrounding her.

This funny comedy exposes the niche world of competitive vegetable growing. It gives us a host of colourful characters who bring everything to life. The large conspiracy only adds to people’s paranoid feelings within their niche pleasures. It gets laughs when needed and holds firm with the serious moments too. In the end, you will never look at a vegetable growing competition the same again, and the wild adventure grabs our attention.
