It's officially sweater weather in the majority of the United States and I'm excited. While I am not looking forward to the shorter days and the bitter cold to come after fall, right now I am enjoying the crisp air, the ability to open the windows, and the change to pull out my sweaters, jackets, and boots! When researching clothing for an upcoming post I kept getting distracted by the amazing sweaters available this season at popular retailers. I couldn't keep them all to myself so below are my favorite sweaters for sweater weather!
My Sweater Weather Must-Haves
The Coatigan
Not just a cardigan sweater, the coatigan is usually longer in length, heavier in weight, a hybrid between a coat and a cardigan (hence the name!). I find as someone who works from home, this is my sweater workhorse from October to April. In fall and spring, I toss it over a graphic tee or my more polished Zoom blouse. When the temps dip further, I will wear my coatigan over a lighter-weight merino or cashmere sweater. They're perfect for curling up on the couch, throwing over your outfit for a walk around the block, and usually one resides on the back of my desk chair at the ready.
