How addicted are you to outside food – how frequently you go to hotels ! - do you eat in hotels ? .. . .. and do you order simply Idly, Dosa or .. .. fast food !!
With prices in the tens and even hundreds of thousands per night, the most expensive hotels are far beyond the reach of the average traveller, embodying an aspirational idealism achieved by only a privileged few. Housing many of the world’s wealthiest and most prominent figures, slipping into their impeccably high thread count sheets becomes a statement of status in itself. The world’s most expensive hotels and hotel suites live by a “sky’s the limit” attitude—a mantra personified by the soaring heights of their opulent penthouse suites.
Among those elite few, Royal Atlantis is at the top of the chart by some counts. Opened in 2023, Royal Atlantis is arguably the most prestigious hotel in Dubai. Reminiscent of an oversized, futuristic Jenga-like structure, nearly 800 rooms are stacked atop each other in a series of asymmetrical designs. And while every room reflects the opulence of the architectural masterpiece, none does so quite like The Royal Mansion. As the hotel’s crown jewel, the 11,000 square foot room housed Beyonce during her performance at the Royal Atlantis launch and costs $100,000 a night to book. The hotel’s most expensive suite would look like - double-story Penthouse with a private foyer with 100-year-old olive trees, sky-high ceilings and marble floors. While a scintillating infinity pool overlooks the ocean, and an outdoor kitchen sets the scene for an alfresco celebrity chef dining affair.
Moving away from stay to eating, fast food is a type of mass-produced food designed for commercial resale, with a strong priority placed on speed of service. It is a commercial term, not limited to food sold in a restaurant or store with frozen, preheated or precooked ingredients and served in packaging for take-out/take-away. Fast food was created as a commercial strategy to accommodate large numbers of busy commuters, travelers and wage workers. In recent times, fast food industry is estimated to be worth a few hundred billions globally. The fastest form of "fast food" consists of pre-cooked meals which reduce waiting periods to mere seconds. Other fast food outlets, primarily hamburger outlets such as McDonald's, use mass-produced, pre-prepared ingredients (bagged buns and condiments, patties, vegetables which are prewashed, pre-sliced, or both; etc.) and cook the french fries fresh, before assembling "to order". Triplicane touted as ‘bachelors’ paradise’ had many vegetarian Mess, now you see so many eateries on the roadside !!
Thirukachi (Kanchipuram) is a beautiful place with so many temples. Thiruthanka is one of the 108 Divya Desams of Sriman Narayana situated in Kanchipuram, this temple is just ½ kms away from Ashtabuyakaram divyadesam. More significantly, this is the birth place of Sri Vedantachar. Purattasi 26 wass ‘thiruvonam nakshathiram’ marking the birth of Sri Vedanthacharyar – and here is a photo at Avatharasthalam.
திருவரங்கனுடைய பாதுகையைப் பற்றி, பாதுகா சகஸ்ரம் என்ற தலைப்பிலே விடிவதற்குள்ளே 1000 ஸ்லோகங்களைத் சுவாமி பாடியதால் - கவிதார்க்கிக சிம்மம் என்ற பட்டமும் இவருக்குக் கிடைத்தது. இவர் “சர்வ தந்திர சுதந்திரர்”, என்று போற்றப்படுகிறார்
கொடியவர்கள் கண் பட்ட சோறு, தீய்ந்துபோன சோறு, ஆடை, எச்சில், தும்மல் ஆகியவை பட்ட சோறு, நாய் போன்ற விலங்கினங்கள் வாய் வைத்த சோறு ஆகியவற்றை உண்ணக்கூடாது.
மனிதர்கள், பசுக்கள் முகர்ந்த உணவு, ரோகிகள் தொட்டது, ஈ, புழு, நூல், முடி, நகம் போன்றவை இருந்த உணவு, அன்போடு பரிமாறப்படாத சோறு, சந்நியாஸியிடம் பெற்றது, சந்நியாஸி பாத்திரத்தில் பட்டது, மனிதர், எலி, கோழி, காக்கை, பூனை ஆகியவற்றின் வாய் பட்டது... இப்படிப்பட்ட உணவுகளையும் உண்ணக்கூடாது.
இது ஏதோ மடி ஆசாரம் என பழமைவாதிகள் சம்பந்தப்பட்டதல்ல !! ஆசாரமாக இருப்பவர்கள் அருந்தும் நீர் முதல் உண்ணும் உணவு வரை பல கட்டுப்பாடுகளை பின்பற்றுவர். இன்று நாம் பலர் சாப்பிடும் தண்ணீர் பல வடிவங்களில் இருக்கும் பிளாஸ்டிக்கில் அடைக்கப்பட்டு தான் வருகிறது. பெரிய பிராண்ட் என பெயர் பெற்ற நிறுவனங்கள் சுத்தமான தண்ணீர் என்று அதீத விலைக்கு விற்பது எல்லாம் கூட சுத்தமான தண்ணீரே இல்லை. இன்று நாம் நம் நதிகளை அழித்துவிட்டு பாட்டில் தண்ணீருக்கு அலைந்துகொண்டு இருக்கிறோம். எங்கு சென்றாலும் ஏகப்பட்ட தண்ணீர் பாட்டில்களை தூக்கிக்கொண்டு - உணவை தேடி அலைகின்றோம்.
எவை எவற்றை உண்ணக்கூடாது என மேலே கண்டது சுவாமி வேதாந்தாச்சார் எழுதிய "ஆகார நியமம்" என்ற நூலின் சில வரிகள். பகவானுடைய அடியவர்கள் பகவத்பக்தியை வளர்ந்துக்கொள்ள ஸாத்விக ஆஹாரங்களையே உட்கொள்ள வேண்டும். சில ஆஹாரங்களை விட்டே தீர வேண்டும். எவையெவைகளை விட வேண்டும் என்று ஆசார்யர் 21 பாசுரங்களாலே காட்டியுள்ளார்.
இவற்றையெல்லாம் கடைபிடிப்பது கடினம் எனும் நல்லோர் தங்கள் ஆக்கையின் வழி உழலலாம். நாம் நிறுவனத்தில் டை கட்டச்சொன்னால் கட்டுவோம் ! - அதிகாரி நினைப்பதற்கு முன்பே கை காட்டுவோம் - ஆனால் நமது நல்வாழ்க்கைக்கு நியமனங்கள் பற்றி கூறினால் உதாசீனம் செய்வோம் !!
12.10.2024 புரட்டாசி திருவோணம் - விஜயதசமி நன்னாள். ஸ்ரீ தூப்புல் பிள்ளை என்ற கவிதார்க்க்கிக சிம்மம் என்ற ஸர்வதந்திரஸ்வதந்தரர் என்ற ஸ்ரீமந் வேதாந்தாசாரியார் - 754 திருநட்சத்திரம். காஞ்சியில் திருத்தண்கா என்கிற திவ்யதேசம் 'கண்ணன் வெஃக்கா' எனப்படுகிற ஸ்ரீயதோக்தகாரி எம்பெருமான் ஸன்னிதிக்குச் சமீபத்தில் உள்ள ' தேனிளஞ்சோலையே' தண்கா (குளிர் சோலை) என்பர் பெரியோர். அதற்கருகில் இருக்கும் உத்தமமான புரட்டாசித் திருவோண நன்னாளில் உதித்தவர் உயர் வேங்கட குருவான வேதாந்த தேசிகன் ! கிபி 1268ல் புரட்டாசி விபவ ஆண்டில் அவதரித்தார்.
‘தூப்புல்’ வேதாந்தாசாரியாரின் அவதாரஸ்தலம். 'தூப்புல்’ தூய்மையான புல். வைதிகர்கள் உபயோகிக்கும் தர்ப்பத்தை குறிக்கும். உபய வேதாந்தத்துக்கும், [தமிழ், ஸம்ஸ்க்ருதம்] என்ற இரண்டிலும் சிறந்து விளங்கியதால் 'வேதாந்தாச்சார்யர்’. நமக்கு நல்வழி காட்டிடும் ஆசானை நாம் குரு, ஆசாரியன், தேசிகன் என்று பல பெயர்களால் குறிப்பிடுகின்றோம். தேசிகன் என்றால் ஆசாரியன் என்று பொருள்.
Venkatanathan was the hamsam of “Thirumani” (bell). One day, Kidambi Appular, Venkatanathan’s Maternal Uncle, took him to the “Kalakshepam” of Guru Nadathur Ammal. On seeing Vekatanathan’s “divya thejas” (brilliance), Nadathur Ammal stopped the Kalakshepam and asked the boy to come on stage. Young Venkatanathan grew up to become an astute scholar, a preacher of Srivaishnava siddhantam. Venkatanathan travelled to Thiruvahindirapuram and did “mangalasasnam” to Lord Deivanayagan and his consort. He then went to Lord Nrusimha’s sannidhi in Oushadagiri, sat under an “Ashwattha” tree and recited the Garuda Mantram. He also composed Hayagreeva Sthotra, Garuda-dhandakam, Devanayaga-panchasath, Achyutha-sadakam, and many more literary gems in future. Swami was well versed in Sanskrit, Prakritham, Tamil and was great in debate earning the title “Kavitarkikasimham”(A lion among poets). Of his many skills, he confronted a mason in building a well which is now seen at his thirumaligai at Thiruvahindrapuram.
Swami Vedanthachar lived a full and fruitful life for 102 years. In the tough times of Islamic invasion of Thiruvarangam when thousands lost their lives protecting Arangan, at the loot time of loot and pillage, he longwith Swami Pillai Logachar rose to the forefront in protecting our sampradhayam. In the year 1369, he rested his head on the lap of his son Kumara Varadhachariar and left his mortal coil. During his lifetime, Swami lived in Karnataka for 12 long years in a place know as Sathyagalam.
At Thiruvallikkeni divyadesam, Azhwar / Acaryas would have purappadu with Emperuman on their sarrumurai day.. today being Mahanavami, there was pappadu of Acaryar with Lord Ranganathar and later there was purappadu of Srimannathan and Vedavalli thayar inside the temple.
