A woman who had been sleeping with her child in an estate line cottage in Thalangahawatta of Yakkalamulla was reportedly raped by an intruder, Yaakkalamulla Police said.
The woman had been sleeping with her child in the living room of the estate cottage when her husband had gone to attend a puja at a temple.
It is reported that someone who lives in the same estate line of cottages had entered the cottage and raped her. Police arrested a suspect who was to be produced before the Galle Magistrate. Investigations are being carried out following instructions of Yakkalamulla O.I.C. IP Chandana Hewage.
