Sushant Singh Rajput Case: Lesson All

This article is about the controversial death of a Bollywood actor. But as I write it I realize this article is not about the actor, this is actually about us, no matter where we come from or what job we do, top to bottom and all professionals face this issue. The name is depression.

Talking about Sushant Singh Rajput, he was a young, successful, shining star who started from scratch and quickly got to the top. Winning the hearts of millions of people he also was an inspiration to all. He was not only an actor but he was a great dancer, speaker, writer as well. He was having millions of fans, money, friends, family but he was found dead in his apartment. As per the police report, he committed suicide where a celebrity takes his own life which people used to believe, yet there is another story from a different angle.

On the day of the suicide, his helper said that he came out of his room, playing video games, and had juice. Now a question that arises: why would anyone act so casual before committing suicide. Is this even possible? The CCTV camera from the apartment is a big question mark from the beginning. He changed more than 50 sim cards and the duplicate key of his house was missing. Another question: who was he hiding from? All these raised many questions among people. People dug even deeper to understand more. He was 6 feet tall and he stood on his bed to hang himself. This is clearly impossible because there was not enough space in the room to put this into action.

What is more unbelievable for fans is he used to inspire many people, but he died without even a single note. He just disappeared without a note. This raises another big question: why would anyone want to kill the actor, people believe that this is done by someone who never accepted him as part of Bollywood as he was not from B-Town families. The darkest side of Bollywood that people believe exists is nepotism.

Now, this is extremely important to understand that these are all theories, officially it has been announced that he has committed suicide and it could be. Right now we really don’t know but there is something I know. Sushant may have left us without note but one thing he would want us to know is to use his case and bring attention to the biggest problem that many people face but don’t discuss.

Whether it is India or any other country in this world, mental health issues are all-time high when compared to any other issue. People with smiles in public have taken their lives because they have to hide their issues and smile in public and so the case was with sushant. If a person like him commits suicide it is our responsibility to talk about it and not make it a taboo.

You think Covid-19 is a big issue-yes it is, but suicide, depression is taking way more lives. It is one of the leading causes of death around the world. We only talk about people who survive cancer, COVID-19, and many other big diseases but why no one talks about the depression survivor. It’s a devil inside your brain that makes you feel you are not good, you don’t matter, you can disappear, you are useless. This devil occupies your thinking capability and puts you as down as possible and you never get a chance to talk to your people out of shame. This disease is the most dangerous disease in our generation that puts you in a deep depression. Sushant is no more and I hope he will get justice. But we can take care of our loved ones by discussing the issue of depression. Every year nearly 3000 people give their life due to depression. We must stop this and create a good society. This is our time to remove mental health stigma.
