Following the release of their ‘Fight’ EP (check out our review here), Tina from Sœur talks us through five songs that have influenced the band’s sound and five acts you should be checking out right now….
Top 5 Influences
Black Honey – ‘All My Pride‘
Pop banger, got everything you want from a pop song.
Buke & Gase – ‘Houdini Crush‘
Complicated time signatures and rhythms whilst remaining catchy as hell.
Idles – ‘Mother‘
The repetitive lyrics helps hammer the message home. It’s important and I can’t stop singing it to myself with a sense of rage.
Deerhunter – ‘Helicopter‘
This is such a simple song, but the words really get me. I’m not quite sure what it’s about but I know it means something to me. Those are the weirdest songs. It’s got such a simple melody and chord structure but the production really brings it to life.
Marmozets – ‘Suffocation‘
I remember being caught off guard in the best possible way when I first heard this song live. The pay off in the chorus is worth the wait and I try to do that often in my own song writing: build for a pay off.

Yonaka
Leeches
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard
