"A heart that is broke is a heart that's been loved"- Ed Sheeran from his song Supermarket Flowers.

These last couple of weeks since the death of my husband, Pastor Ernest Slaughter have sucked! That's my truth! The loss, the pain, the anger, it has been a bit much. It's been downright overwhelming!
I've prayed, cried, read books, hired a therapist, and even joined a widow ministry to be with other individuals like me who are dealing with the death of a spouse....

But I still found myself feeling alone, confused, hurt and lost. I had to finally embrace that it's all a part of the grieving process and everybody process grief differently.
Music has always been an outlet for me.
Music has always been my way of coping with the hills and valleys of life. As I find myself learning to cope with the death of my husband, Ed Sheeran's "Supermarket Flowers" has helped my heart to smile in the midst of being broken:
"You were and Angel in the shape of my husband
When I fell down you'd be there holding me up
Spread your wings as you go
When God takes you back
You'll say Hallelujah you're home."
