While attending the 2017 Wings Over Camarillo Airshow, I spied the Commemorative Air Force undergoing maintenance. With only 957 of this version, it was the first Spitfire to go in production with the Rolls Royce Griffon 65 V-12 engine.  The 2,050 horspower of the Griffon necessitated the use of a five-bladed propeller.  This aircraft entered service with the Royal Air Force in 1944 and was later transferred to the Indian Air Force, returning to England in 1983 for restoration.
