A pair of rare Spitfires on the Planes of Fame Airshow flightline.  The near aircraft is an actual veteran of the D-Day invasion, flying missions over Normandy, spent time with the Indian Air Force and was part of The Fighter Collection at Duxford before finding its way to the U.S. in 2001. First flown in 1936, more than 20,000 of these iconic British fighters would be manufactured.  There are 54 Spitfires in airworthy condition worldwide.  The Spitfire in the background is an Allison-powered replica built from plans.  Nikon D500 w/ Tamron 150-600mm.
