Superhero Cape

By Curdsnwhey
I think we need some more boy projects on here what about you?  So for all you ladies out there that have little boys at home this post is for you.  I had to make a birthday present for a little boy and I think this makes the perfect little gift.  I mean what little boy doesn't love superhero's?  So here's how it turned out...
Superhero CapeThis is how it's done...
Items Needed:
1/2 to 3/4 yard of black fabric
1/2 to 3/4 yard of yellow fabric
black and yellow felt
matching thread
double fusible webbing
First you are going to cut your cape out.  Draw a cape fold it in half and cut on the fold on both black and yellow fabric.
Superhero CapeNext you are going to trace your image on your fusible webbing.  You can draw your own or download mine from here
Superhero CapeNow peel the back off that doesn't have the image on it and iron it to your felt.  The oval on the yellow and the bat on the black.
Superhero CapeNow cut them out on the line, peel the paper off and iron it on the cape.
Superhero CapeTop stitch around the oval and the bat.  Now lay your two cape pieces right sides together and sew around the cape leaving an opening at the bottom to turn right side out.  After it is turned press it and top stitch around the entire cape.  Now all that is left is the snap.  Add a snap or some velcro and your done!
Superhero CapeNow throw it on your little guy and let him save the world!
