Sunshine, mountains, pool, and palm trees–what more could a girl want?
At this time of year, the spring break time of year, most Pacific Northwesterners flee the region for sunnier locales to replenish our vitamin D stores, remember what sunshine is, and just enjoy the outdoors. My family is no exception. Recent spring break trips of ours have included San Diego and Hawaii.
I’ve written before about the fact that if a vacation involves tennis, Ruby and Mr. Miscellany will travel almost anywhere. This year, we came to Indian Wells to see the final weekend of the BNP Paribas Open, which I will write more about later, after I’ve recovered from three days of sitting in the direct sun for several hours.
At this point, I would also like to point out—or perhaps, even brag?—that even though I have spent the last three days sitting in the direct sun (90-plus degrees) for several hours, I, fair-skinned and of Irish descent, did not get sunburned—a testament to my skill with sunscreen, hats, and clothing that keeps you cool.
