Hey, girls! It’s that time of the year when the heat is unbearable!!! We apply tons of sunblock on our face, arms and legs but we often neglect the most important part of our body - our EYES! The eyes are most vulnerable because of the very thin layer of skin over our eyelids. Even then, we cannot just close our eyes forever to avoid the sun’s glare. Solution? Put on that sunnies!
Before you buy one though, make sure that you will still be stylishly beautiful. Gone are the days of wearing those sunglasses for the sole purpose of protecting one’s eyes from the harmful effects of the UV rays. Function and fashion must go together. When these two serve their purpose, you know that you got a great buy.
Now you’re in a shop and you’re overwhelmed by the rows of shades that you have to choose from. Here’s what you have to do:
FUNCTION: Check the label. A good pair should block at least 98% of UV light. Do not settle for less.
FASHION: Determine your face shape. Decide which style suits your face shape best. Here are some tips:
- Oval Shape
Long face, narrow chin, narrow cheeks.
Balanced forehead, cheekbones, and jaw.
Most frames work for you! Just make sure that it is in proportion to your features - if you have a small face, steer away from the oversized sunglasses. Slightly square frames often look best on you.
- Round shape
Full cheekbones, narrow forehead and jaw
A circular face needs angular sunglasses to produce a slimming affect. Square or rectangular frames will look good on you.
- Square shape
Broad forehead, square jawline
Stick to curved sunglasses if you have a square shape. This will soften your angular face.
So there you have it! Go shopping!!!
P.S. Do you have more suggestions to add? I’d like to hear from you. Please post your comments below.
