I took a small breather from all things Daisybutter this week and it’s felt pretty good. Last weekend I was beating myself up for not being ‘devoted enough’ to spend an entire day setting up pretty flat-lays and photo set-ups and writing from a reel of post titles and, in the end, I used a phone snap for my library post (read it here!) and then wrote off the rest of the week. It’s been SO good for the blogging soul. I’ve been keeping awfully busy with all things Tartle Copywriting too: work is busier than it has been all year and I’m not complaining! I’m really enjoying poring over my new clients and pushing myself to work all around the clock. And the ‘spare time’ that I’ve created for myself from not writing blog posts has meant that I could squeeze in dinner with a mate as well as date day with my love. And that’s the good stuff.
Tombo x Hello Kitty
On Wednesday, Hannah and I finally headed to Tombo’s Fitzrovia branch in London to try the Hello Kitty pop-up and it was SO good. I’ve been devoting myself somewhat to trying every single Hello Kitty cafe I can and so I went with little expectation (you expect food to be mediocre at these novelty pop-ups) but was thoroughly impressed! Their vegan tofu Hello Kitty poke bowl was so moreish: flavoursome, soft tofu cubes with a satisfying bite to them on black and white sushi rice with courgetti and an amalgamation of veggies. The hojicha dessert was on point and totally hit the spot for somethin’ sweet afterwards and I just LOVE Tombo’s matcha lattes. The pop-up is there until the 1st October 2017 and they don’t take reservations, but we found it to be relatively quiet in there on the Wednesday night. Go go go!Shooting with Kaye
Yesterday I popped into London to shoot with Kaye for the second time. And we had such a great time! For the longest time, I’ve struggled to feel confident in front of a camera but I’ve been working on it and I am ridiculously excited to share these new shoots with you. Things are about to get hella autumnal on Daisybutter and I can’t bloody wait. I also couldn’t recommend Kaye enough if you’re thinking of upping the photo game on your own blogs: she’s based in Hertfordshire and London and is a delight to work with. Her eye for composition and color is just so great and we pretty much just laugh and chatter our way through the two-hour slot. This week’s read has been Yukio Mishima’s ‘Spring Snow’ which I’m absolutely loving. Japanese literature is one of my favorite genres and Spring Snow ticks all of the boxes, full of romance, coming-of-age themes, history and culture. You know those moments when you just feel too grown-up for your own good? That has been me this week. With the realisation that Christmas is just a few short months away (YAY!), my boyfriend and I have been planning ahead because we hope to move abroad to my beloved Hong Kong in the imminent future. Expenses calculated and legalities mapped out, ya girl is hoping to be gone (again!) by Christmas next year and before that? We’re hoping to buy a little place of our own! And damn that feels oh so grown-up on paper. Or on screen. 2018, we’re coming for you.Links I’ve Loved:
