Good morning Daisies! An early one this Sunday because my best friend and I are headed to a wedding fair over in London for the day. We didn’t quite manage to do our Christmas gift exchange before the big day so we’re doing it today instead and we’re going to peruse the fares of the wedding fair. I’m sure I won’t be home until late so I thought I’d squeeze in a post alongside my morning coffee.
一. We celebrated my boyfriend’s birthday on Tuesday! I’ve been pretty excited to celebrate it with him for a whole host of reasons and it was finally time to. I woke up early to crack on with some work, reply to my emails and feed Milo, as well to prepare a breakfast feast of sourdough toast, prosciutto, eggs and all the rest of it, whilst he enjoyed an obligatory lie-in. It was a fairly relaxed day - our favorite sort! - snacks, anime and rooms filled with laughter. We headed out for coffee with his Papa and then I surprised him with a meal at Hawksmoor Seven Dials! Disclaimer: We’ve both agreed that for our health, we’re going to eat meat once or twice a week, and this was the best way to. I absolutely LOVE Hawksmoor - best steak in London - and we couldn’t fault the service or food. Perfect.
二. My new DSLR camera arrived on Thursday! I’ve been SO excited to upgrade my camera and I’m seriously impressed with it. The Nikon D5300 is still an entry-level camera but has WiFi capabilities, a flip-out screen and a much more responsive microphone. I went out to shoot in the snow with it as well as in the Honey + Chai studio and the quality is just next-level. I’m thinking of selling my old (broken!) DSLR for a fairly cheap price if anybody’s interested? It’s the Nikon D3100 and the only things wrong with it are a broken battery cover (can be secured with tape!) and a few scratches on the screen. I’ve shot with it for almost 4 years for the blog. Letting it go - body only - for £80 if you're interested (:
三. It snowed in the UK this week! And Twitter was all a flurry with excitement ;) I’ve been patiently waiting for snow since I moved back to England so I was a ball of excitement on Thursday evening when the first few tufts began to fall. And then we woke up on Friday to a complete sheet of the good white stuff! Milo was less than impressed by the snow in ‘his’ garden but revelled in playing around in it on our walk. Too adorable.
四. A very quick shoutout to the loveliest Lauren who sent me this ADORABLE Pokemon Sun and Moon enamel pin. I spotted it in one of her Instagram posts whilst I was on a commenting spree and she ended up offering me a spare one! How. Freaking. Kind. Seriously, this community never fails to surprise to me. I’ve already popped it on one of my black wool coats, ready for outfit post shooting, heh.
