Sunday Summary | Taking A Break Isn't A Bad Thing

By Hellofreckles @tashajsteel
Hello Freckles 2016 Sunday Summary Going AWOL You may (or may not) have noticed that Hello Freckles has been a bit quiet lately. Without my usual 2-3 posts during the week and my Sunday Summary rounding up the week with any anecdotes I want to share. Here's why I've been a bit awol lately.
I want to produce content I'd like to read myself; writing about things I'm genuinely interested in and taking my time with photography (and the tinkering in photoshop afterwards) rather than rushing to get a post up to stick with my schedule. I set that schedule myself, so yes I understand it might be frustrating to check back here on a Tuesday or Thursday and not see anything new, but I'd rather that be the case, than a rushed post. Now I'm not saying I'm not proud of my content from last year; I'm really pleased with how I wrote, what I wrote about and how often I would publish new posts. This year, maybe I won't post 2-3 times every week. From time to time, there may be just one on a Wednesday, but you'll (hopefully) know I've put the same amount of work, time and thought into it as I would for three.
By no means do I feel like I need to explain myself for having this 'break' if that's what we'll call it. I guess I just want to have a chat about it! I've still been reading blogs over the past couple of weeks, noting down ideas and spending money - so I'm not short of things to feature, let's put it that way. It's been nice to have some time for me; popping out for coffee with friends, skyping Cameron on the other side of the world in Australia, spending (several) hours catching up with another friend who just got back from a year out there, burgers and general life chats with Sarah and fitting in a quick trip to London last weekend.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, don't feel pressured into posting new content to fit with your schedule, take a few days off if you want, re-shoot that outfit with different shoes and post it the week later. It's entirely up to you! I blog alongside working full-time and trying to maintain some form of social life, as I'm sure many of you do too. I blog because I enjoy it, so I would never want to force content or post something I wasn't happy with. So if there's one thing you take away from all this rambling, let it be that.

What're your thoughts on blogging schedules and how often do you try to post?
