Sunday Summary | I've Been Shortlisted!

Very exciting news to share today - if you'd not already guessed what it could be from the title.
The North East Blogger Awards shortlist was announced on Wednesday around 2pm. I'd already decided I wouldn't look at the announcement at work for two reasons; to avoid any disappointment if I didn't make the selection and so I didn't get distracted from work. As it turns out, I've been shortlisted (for a second year) for Best Lifestyle Blog which is absolutely amazing! Thank you to everyone who nominated me, I really do appreciate it and the news has given me a big boost to work harder on my blog content. A huge congratulations to every blogger who made the shortlist across the categories. I'm looking forward to seeing those of you I know already, and meeting some new faces at the awards night next month! 
Coincidentally, I'd already arranged to go for a meal on Wednesday night which then became slightly more exciting, given the news. The meal was great, my first experience of a seven course showcase and there'll be a post up about it next week. I tried a few new dishes, some of which I wouldn't typically eat, but I knew if I didn't like something, I could just move on to the next one. No one could be offended by that. It was really lovely when a member of staff came over and congratulated me on my win last year and my nomination again this year!
So what else do I have to tell you about this week? I caught up with Chloe who's finished her Masters and landed herself a new job too. Very proud of her and the incredible amount of work she's put into her thesis! I shared some photos from a recent trip across to Keswick, visited Byron Burgers in Newcastle - which was really good and I was introduced to the new Halloween and Christmas ranges from Lush when I popped into my local store.
