This week I've been my own boss (due to the higher grade staff in my team being on holiday, and that's how it works, right?) completed six weeks of spinning classes and tried my hand at sewing for the first time in years.
I saw Yellowcard for the third time this weekend and they were just as impressive as before. I know I say this every time, but I don't think any gig will ever top their Ocean Avenue acoustic tour in Manchester, where I was sat just a couple of metres from them. It was disappointing that they weren't the main headlining band on the night. Don't get me wrong, I've got nothing against Less Than Jake, but Yellowcard are way better in my opinion and deserved the top slot.
Yesterday I went along to a blog event organised with Hillary's Blinds. I didn't really know what to expect and not being the most crafty person, I was hoping it wouldn't be too challenging. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it and how therapeutic it is to sew and be creative. I'm pretty happy with the way my book (and bird, in case you'd not figured out that's what it's meant to be) came out, considering my lack of recent experience. I'm not saying I'll be giving everyone handmade presents for birthdays and christmas, but it'd be nice to do something different every now and again.
This week I've shared some photos from my recent visit to South Lakes Safari Zoo. If you've not seen them yet, you'll want to at least take a look at the jaguar cub. I've also introduced Mirins, a new brand from Copenhagen, so if you're in the market for skincare, head on over to their website.
I've got my first full week off work since starting my job back in July and I'm still yet to actually plan what I'm doing. I'm hoping to get along for a spa day with my sister, a few trips to the gym and a day out for my Mam's birthday as well as taking some much needed time to relax and work on new content for Hello Freckles.
I'll be back Tuesday! Hope you've had a great week.
