I put the finishing touches to the sound design for our dissertation film this week, leaving uni at 9pm on Wednesday night with the thought that it was all done... Turns out it's been changed since but there's really nothing more I can do now. I thought I'd feel relieved that it's done, but if anything, I think I feel worse. There's now just the screening next week and a written evaluation to submit by the following week and I'll be finished university...forever. I can't quite find the words for how I feel about that and I'm not sure if it's a positive feeling. It's weird.
On a way happier note, I attended Thinking Digital, a 3 day conference all about the online and digital world, which was held at Sage, Gateshead. I was lucky to be picked as one of Sage One's Street Team to attend the conference and update social media while I was there. I was nervous about going and being on my own but I'm really pleased I went and I had such an amazing time. Being surrounded by so many inspiring people and hearing from really amazing people was incredible. I wish I'd been able to attend the Tuesday and Wednesday sessions, but hopefully I'll be back there again next year. I forced myself to network with the speakers and the other delegates and I'm really proud I did. Five years ago (maybe less) I wouldn't dream of attending a conference alone and speaking to the organiser, or the guest speakers, but it's true that you really do have to make the most of the opportunities you're given and I'm pretty sure I did just that! I might pop up a full post about the conference sometime next week, let me know if you'd like to see that!
After a busy day at the conference I headed along to French Connection to take part in their #canthelpmyselfie campaign. I've put a post up here. I absolutely love the outfit I wore, so take a look and do vote for me here if you like. I know I need a crazy amount of votes to be in with a chance of winning, but you've got to give these things a go!
I went to see X Men Days Of Future Past on Friday night and I honestly think it's the best film of any of the X Men series. Absolutely incredible and I'll probably get a full review up in my Film Friday series this next week, but if you're planning to go to the cinema before next weekend, definitely check it out!
This weekend I've decided I need to have an extreme clean of my room and really sort through everything I own. There's plenty that can go to charity and things I could even sell. Let me know your opinions on the best way to do it, would a blog sale interest anyone? I've already got some things up on Depop and I don't mind using eBay but I don't want to miss out on getting a little bit of money for things that are in really good condition (some stuff I haven't even worn).
What've you been up to this week?
