Plot: During their last days of summer and childhood — the weekend before middle school begins — four girls struggle with the harsh truths of growing up and embark on a mysterious adventure.

Story: Summering starts when four friends Daisy (Barnett), Lola (Victoria), Dina (Mills) and Mari (Redfield) are spending their last summer together before starting middle school. As they explore they discover a dead body and decide to keep things secret.
The girls decide they want to figure out who the man was and set out on their own adventure. As they investigate, they start looking at more home truths about their own lives. All while they understand how life is changing for them. However, they start seeing the figure following them, leaving them questioning what is real or not.
Verdict on Summering
Summering is a drama following four friends as they prepare for the next stage of their lives. They are about to start middle school and in this last summer together, they go on their own adventure. It sees them dealing with problems they never imagined while trying to solve a case about a dead body they found.
This is a great drama about friendship and changes coming. It shows the four friends are aware that life is going to change and hope they can keep things together. Each one of the four has their own problems they are facing at home. As time together means they can let go of those worries, knowing they are around close friends.
There is a massive message about change and being aware of impending changes. It has a message of hope that the bond created will remain forever. However, the acceptance that things will change is there too. The four young stars shine through the movie showing the bond created between them.
Final Thoughts –Summering gives us a strong message about friendships, futures and growing up.
