Summer Scenes In Porto

By Gail Aguiar @ImageLegacy

where the Douro River meets the Atlantic Ocean

Unlike many people, I prefer to stay in my home country in the summertime and travel abroad off-season. This was especially true while living in Canada, the USA, and the UK, and it applies to Portugal, too. By adhering to this timing, not only is it cheaper and easier to get around, but when the weather is good I’m too content to leave.

Of course, we don’t have any children so there’s nothing limiting our travel schedules besides Paulo’s work, but that’s all the more reason to not get caught up in the tidal wave of tourism when we can avoid it. I feel sorry for the parents who can’t.

Now that summer is winding down, it’s time to release these “orphan” photos taken around the city that don’t fit into the other posts. I’ve put them in no particular order.
