Summer Flowers

By Sophiecussen

Okay, I know it’s not officially summer yet…

But I couldn’t resist having a go at showcasing some of the beautiful flowers blooming in our garden at the moment.

June is by far the most colourful month in our garden, flower wise.  Red, yellows, purples, greens and whites are all showing brightly at the moment and it’s a real joy to see.

Nothing brightens up my day more than seeing these flowers.  They don’t ask for anything from me and yet they always bring color and variety to our garden.

Some flowers are so very small to the eye.  They make little impact on their own but as I knelt down to take photo’s of the smaller flower heads they showed themselves to be as worthy as any group of competing blooms I’ve seen.

Each flower is there to show off it’s greatest asset and attract the attention of bees and other pollinators to ensure their heritage goes on with a new generation.  In turn the pollinators welcome the flowers with open arms (wings), and gratefully take the available nectar.

Hope these brighten up your day.
