Summer Essentials

Summer essentials
Whilst writing this I am looking outside to a view that many English people will be familiar with...
Rain. Perhaps then, a rather ironic time to do my 'summer essentials' list. But we shall plow through none the less.
Number 1: The bag
Summer essentials  This is the bag that can follow you around on any summer activities you have planned; it always seems to fit in everything you need.  I bought this bag from New Look when I was about 12 and it has been my trusty summer bag ever since. I love the loud groovy font and bright colours; it just epitomises summer fun for me.   Number 2: The Lipstick

Summer essentials A bright lip color will always work with a sun kissed complexion. Summer is the perfect time to try out new colours that are 'more daring' and so are deemed as being harder to pull off (especially in the winter months). I wanted to try something a tad different this year instead of simply being a red lip reclusive, so I picked up this Topshop 'lip paint' a few weeks ago in a gorgeous orange color ( named 'Fun and Games'). With a brown smoky eye and subtle bronzer this is my summer makeup  go-to.
Number 3: The pool sliders
Summer essentials
A big trend for summer 2014. I bought these white Nike pool sliders for my holidays as something to fashionably sling on when pottering about on the pool side. Instead of that, they ended up being the only shoe I wore all holiday and were perfect for casual strolls along the beach and other activities. They are also very comfortable due to the padding on the sole and underneath the strap that goes across the foot. I would definitely recommend these, but there are an abundance of other options to choose from if you are looking for some that are more 'stylish'.
Number 4: The Sunglasses

A bit of an obvious one you might well be thinking, but who doesn't love a good pair of sunglasses!? I feel as though they can change the feel of an outfit in an instance; a cat eye can mean business whilst wayfarer can depict casual cool.  This pair from ASOS immediately caught my eye because they are so unique! With a mirrored cat eye glass and nude coloured frame I knew these were going to be my sunglasses for the season.
Number 5: The Sunhat
Summer essentials
There's nothing worse than a hot-head, so I opt for this floppy sunhat from Accessorise to keep me shielded when the suns rays are a tad too hot on the ol' noggin. Hats are always acceptable in summer, so they can also add to an interesting outfit! My little tip is to buy a hat that is quite plain, but has a good structure, and then customise with your own bits and bobs. I added this white lace around mine just to make it look a little bit more cutesy. OOH you could also stitch little bits into it that you have picked up whilst being on your summer travels...now that would be very cool indeed.
Apart from the other obvious summer essentials, like sun cream, these five items will be with me all summer long.
