The director of Glamour- Gurgaon, Mrs. Barkha Nangia said that although the company had been organizing the pageant for the past four years, this year's edition was difficult for the both the organization and the contestants given the on-going Covid-19 pandemic.

What It Takes To Win The Title?

Shivangi, 29, a mom-preneur and the first runner up of Mrs. Glamour Gurgaon , is the co-founder of a 150 people strong technology startup Appscrip. Like any other entrepreneur, she labelled Appscrip to be her child. She is also a mother to a 10-month-old son born on Jan 2, 2020.

With the Covid-19 pandemic raging , the year for Shivangi had been tremendously challenging as both her business and her child were under grave risk. Businesses around the world have suffered a lot during this pandemic and it has tested the grit and mental strength of every single business leader.

Becoming a mother takes a lot out of a woman's body. The hormonal imbalances cause weight gain and a lot of weakness. So when this Glamour Gurgaon Mrs Delhi/NCR competition came along, Shivangi took this up as a challenge to prove that women can indeed multi-task better than men and can look good, be a loving mother and crack business deals in the board-room in a world where only 5% women hold technology leadership positions, all at the same time.

Shivangi led the business tremendously well in these tough times and ensured that Appscrip did not cut salaries or let go of any single employee during this pandemic. She led several innovations, and the company in fact, grew in these tough times.

The forced work from home proved to be a blessing in disguise as this allowed her to spend a lot of time with her son. She managed to nurse him and keep him well protected in this pandemic.

While doing all of this, Shivangi also managed to get in shape to compete with all the beautiful women competing for this coveted title of Mrs. Delhi/NCR hosted by Glamour Gurgaon.

She was in all praise of her life partner. "My husband, Mr. Rahul Sharma (Co-Founder & CEO, Appscrip) has supported me through thick and thin. He is my biggest cheerleader". Rahul did not only taken care of the business, but also their child while she was participating in the contest.

On being asked further about the pageant, Shivangi told us how much she loved the grooming sessions on healthcare, yoga etc. She described them as the "best moments" of her life. She had thoroughly enjoyed the sessions on hygiene, skin care, ramp walk, question table etiquettes and much more. She told us that winning was more than important for her as she had always dreamt of this day.

I felt like I was living my dream.
