Being yourself, trusting your gut and being fearless to wear what you want to.
What is the one thing you wouldn't spend a lot of money on?
Basics...like jeans and white tee shirts
What is the one thing you would spend a lot of money on?
Shoes... You can show your personality in the shoes that you wear. All you need to look stylish are basic pieces, like a pair of jeans and white tee shirt, and a great pair of shoes.
What is the secret to looking polished?
A great haircut, great skincare and makeup.
How do you balance new trends with a more timeless look?
I am not a big trend follower. With every new season I look at the new trends and choose a couple that I like. I incorporate them into my current wardrobe for something different and new.
What is your current obsession?
My current obsession is my ongoing obsession...vintage, especially handbags, jewelry and outerwear.
Who inspires you?
People who dress for themselves...some of my favorite style icons are Linda Rodin, Olivia Palermo, Leandra Medine, Sienna Miller, Kate Moss, Sarah Jessica Parker, Ines de la Fressange and my all time favorite...Coco Chanel.
Do you have a signature piece or style?
Yes...animal print and vintage pieces.
What's your secret to making yourself stand out?
Being myself, taking style risks, and not being afraid.
The one piece of advice most women need but don't get?
Don't worry about what other people may think.
What's the best piece of style wisdom you've ever received?
Take the time to learn what styles and colors look the best on you, it makes all the difference. Learn what you should emphasize and what you should minimize. Just because something looks good on someone else doesn't mean it will look good on you. If you understand what looks best on you by playing to your strengths it will literally change your life.
What is your favorite current trend?
Anything suede.
What's your favorite shortcut to style?
Figure out what your uniform is. If you don't know, ask people around you what they think you look best in. Know what colors and styles look best on you. Knowing what your uniform is allows you to get dressed quickly and ensures that you will always look stylish. My uniform is a pair of jeans, a white top, a great pair of shoes and statement watch.
What's the worst current trend?
Buying and wearing a current trend only because it is a current trend. Only incorporate a trend if it is complimentary to you and your personal style.
Just because everyone seems to be wearing it doesn't mean it's for you.
How would you describe your personal style?
That's a tough one because I like to dress in so many different ways depending on my mood. But, I guess if I had to pick one style it would be effortless chic with a twist.
