All Saints is one of my favorite brands because I’m a huge fan of their British vintage and grungy looks. For a high street brand, they still offer great quality and designs at reasonable prices. They have just recently released their A/W ’12 collection and so far I’m liking a lot of their pieces. Here are my top 5 picks from this new collection:
1. Dust Slouch Crew T-shirt (in white)
I’ve always liked skulls in the fashion world because they’re edgy and reminiscent of Alexander McQueen. I particularly like this skull tee because it’s in an abstract form and also incorporates a subtle floral design. Skulls and flowers? What a juxtaposition.
2. Bloomsbury Denim Jacket
It’s a lot harder than it looks to find a light-washed denim jacket, but All Saints has the perfect one here. It’s slim-fitting and the denim wash is very natural, making it the perfect layering piece during transitional weather. It’s clearly a good item because they’ve sold out of XS and S sizes online already…sure hope they restock soon!
3. Gauntlet Boot (in Chestnut)
With a slender shape and a buckle on the heel, this new chukka boot is simplicity at its finest. I can imagine that they’d look great with a tapered pair of jeans or pants tucked in. Whereas the black color isn’t bad, I prefer the chestnut one more because it has a contrast wooden sole.
As I’ve mentioned before, I like contrast sleeves. This new merino wool sweater has not two, but three contrasting colours that work together immaculately. While its colours are understated, the design of this sweater makes it a fashionable piece to own for the Fall.
5. Pipe Chino (in Terracotta)
Oddly enough, my absolute favorite item from the new collection is a pair of pants. I’ve been sold on the tobacco color lately and these chinos are in the ideal shade of it. It’s more orange than it is tan, but in a good and trendy way. I also like that it has a slim fit. I’ll probably pick these up next time I drop by a store.
