Velvet is a material that is either loved or hated. Recently I’ve learned to appreciate the vintage appeal of velvet and its ability to add elegance to a look. As I attended Sleep No More at the McKittrick Hotel (an absolutely amazing performance), I wore a burgundy velvet blazer to complement the play’s classic theatrical theme. I’m a huge fan of pairing burgundy with black because this color combination has a sophisticated effect that’s so appropriate for evenings.

Look #19 – Night Owl
I’m wearing:
Blazer – H&M (similar from Brian Dales)
Shirt – Banana Republic
Tie – Banana Republic
Pants – Marc Anthony
Shoes – Banana Republic (similar from new collection)
Mask – Sleep No More performance

The Sleep No More mask was actually quite comfortable to wear, unlike most other costume masks I’ve come across in the past. It helps that this mask has an adjustable strap that makes it fit for everyone. I’ll probably recycle this mask in October!
