Fashion is Not Style

Fashion is what is available in stores right now. It's ever changing. It's not about you. It's not about what suits you.

Fashion is a tool. Style is the expression of who you are using this tool Click To Tweet

Take the bits of current fashions that suit you, your colouring, your style, your body, your personality, your lifestyle. Leave the rest.

Sometimes nothing in the current fashion may suit. Don't worry, a new fashion, a new expression, cut or shape, colour or pattern will be right around the corner. Fashions constantly change.

Watch It

Take Action

Think about who you are as a person and how you want to express this through your outfits.

Put on your favourite outfits and photograph them. Note down the shapes of the garments and how those shapes relate to your body.

Think about the details of the garments:

What do you love about this outfit?

How does wearing this outfit make you feel?

If you had to describe your look in a few words what would they be?

Note down your answers to these. Where are the themes? What do all your favourites have in common?

Not sure what you love? Not sure what suits? Then start on your 7 Steps to Style journey and discover what it is that you really love and what really works for you. All the answers are there.
