Style and Comfort: The Spring Edition

By Attireclub @attireclub
When the spring finally arrives after a long and cold winter, it is welcomed by many with bold sartorial choices. After months of coats, fur hats and thick pants, people are excited to be able to finally ditch them in exchange for less and lighter clothes. However, this may not always be great idea, as spring can be tricky seasons in which temperatures can vary greatly, even just between sunny and shady areas. Not to mention the sudden falls of rain or snow that can take place when you expect them the least. Thus, it is essential to balance your style out until you're sure the warm season is in full bloom. With a few tips and tricks, you can make sure that you will be both stylish and comfortable in the spring time.

The solution to many of your sartorial spring problems is layering. By layering, we mean adding various layers of thin clothes on top of each other. This way, you can take them off or put them on as needed, without much hassle and with the assurance that you'll still look stylish. For example, don't wear a heavy sweater with a t-shirt underneath, as you may sweat and taking your sweater off will make you all of the sudden cold. Instead, opt for a layered look. For example, you can wear an undershirt, a dress shirt over it, then add a vest and finally an unstructured jacket. This way, depending on the temperature or your needs, you can take off either the jacket or the vest and still look good. Moreover, your undershirt will absorb any sweat, so you won't feel cold if you take more layers off.

Layering is also a great opportunity to learn how to mix and match colors. For example, you can experiment with a colorful pattern shirt, which you can balance out with a neutral vest (for example brown, navy, gray) and blazer.

Accessories are also very helpful in the spring time. Besides the layers of your clothes, you can use season-friendly accessories such as scarves and hats to bring not just style, but also functionality to your look. Think of very versatile pieces: for example, a wide and think scarf can be bound together around your neck or spread widely across your back, poncho-style.

Of course, other useful spring accessories are umbrellas, overshoes or light gloves.

When it comes to your grooming and overall styling, the key word is "waterproof". Surely, your shoes, coat and laptop bag should be waterproof, but so should your hair and face products. Sometimes, products such as hair gel can make your hair look messy if it rains, which is why the best option for you is to find something like a hairspray that provides you with a waterproof experience.

For those wearing a bit of foundation, you should also invest in a quality product that won't scrap easily at the touch of a few water drops.

Following these simple tips will help you not only be more stylish during the spring, but more comfortable as well. In the end, no style is worth very much if it's not comfortable. Looking good and feeling great will also help you boost your energy and will give you a positive outlook of the world, which is what fashion is really all about.
