Bambalapitiya Police arrested a student of a private university who flew a drone camera violating regulations.
Bambalapitiya Police had been informed by the Air Force officers at the President’s Air Defence Division who saw this drone camera flying.
It was revealed that the 22-year-old is a resident of Norochcholai. A student at a private university in Kollupitiya, he has told the police that he flew the drone camera at a restaurant close to the Bambalapitiya railway station to take pictures of a celebration at to mark the first anniversary of the hotel.
Bambalapitiya Police said that prior permission should be obtained to fly a drone camera.Police further stated that the university student did not have the permission for it and therefore he was arrested and further investigation will be conducted.
