I'd been after a pair of stylish high tops for a while to replace my boyish Nike Blazers and my Pastel Blue Suede Converse, so when I stumbled across these special edition Zara ones on their website in their New Collection I ordered them straight away. They really stand out as an elegant and stylish pair of high tops. I love the different black textures of leather, suede and what looks to be a linen type material. The tan inner and rubber sole add a bit of balance and variation. Most of all I love the gold studded velcro strap. Funnily enough I didn't automatically look at them and think they would have a hidden wedge - but when I realised it made them just that bit better. The hidden wedge is such a genius idea. It feels strange walking with a slight heel in a pair of sneakers that look flat. But what's perfect about these particular Zara ones, and what is important when buying anything, is that they can be worked into any outfit. I think they'll look good teamed with skinny jeans, leggings, or skirts and dresses, and particularly with a leather jacket. I think they could be dressed up for an evening look to add an edge to an outfit. There's so many hidden wedge booties online and on the high street, such as these here, here, here and here.
