Don’t let somebody else use it to use you. Take you for a ride. Get you to work for them for free. Etc.
Don’t let somebody else tap the waters of your time – irreplaceable waters. Shove their straw down into ‘em and suck ‘em up. Those waters, baby, are your most precious natural resource. Infinitely more valuable than the dosh in your pocket or your shiny new Iphone or your Harley or your house. It better be you that’s drawing on them – not somebody else.
Use the Internet. And use your noggin.
In the matter of making sure you’re getting a great guide in London or Madrid or Paris or Edinburgh or Prague – use the Internet to find out what guides have got going for them. What do they bring to the party?
And where’s the company you’re considering going with stand on this matter?
What’s it say, for example, if a company always has openings for guides?
