Street Style: Paris Street Style at Haute Couture 2016

By Stylecarrot @StyleCarrot

Parisian haute couture collections are over-the-top; a showcase of the lush, sometimes outlandish, creativity with no cost spared. Interestingly, Paris street style surrounding the recent haute couture fall winter 2016 shows were quite wearable. While there are always those style bloggers and diva editors vying for attention, there were just as many sporting clean, sensible style that even you or I would wear.

Speaking of high end designers and attainable style, I feel like the designer x big box store collaboration scene has slowed. Stray pieces of Adam Lippes’ fall collaboration for Target are still around. They were quite wearable, but Adam Lippes is hardly avant garde to begin with. (Not a criticism by any means, just an observation.) Paris street style it is not.

One of the latest designer collaborations, Balmain x H&M was definitely more aspirational. Balmain’s creative director Olivier Rousteing’s bestie clique (Jenner, Hadid, Beiber) has boosted the long-standing brand into the spotlight. I wonder which designer will collaborate with Swedish chain next?

I’m much rather see what real life taste makers are wearing than stand in a frenzied pre-dawn line for poorly made (albeit affordable) pieces. Here are the most wearable but still supremely stylish Paris street style looks spotted at the just presented fall/winter haute couture runway shows.
