The L-5 was one of two American liaison aircraft of World War II that was purpose-built for military with no civilian counterpart.  The type saw extensive use during the Korean War by the USAAF, US Marines, and US Navy.  Over 3,800 were built from 1942-1945 with many serving with the Royal Air Force, India, Pakistan and Italy along with many other nations.  After World War II, the L-5 was widely used by the Civil Air Patrol for search and rescue work.  Nikon D7100 w/18-200 mm, processed with Aperture.
