As per the American Journal of Clinical Dermatology, 80% to 90% of women have cellulite.
I was one of them and wanted to get rid of cellulite.
If you don’t know what cellulite is, you are probably the lucky one out of that 10% women. Cellulite is a condition in which the skin has some bumps or dimples or lumpy appearance on thighs and buttocks. That bumpy appearance is the fat deposit push through the connective tissue beneath the skin, which causes cellulite formulation. Cellulite is stubborn and hard to beat, despite targeted exercise it still clings on thighs and buttocks.
I was desperate to get rid of it, so decided to go for the dry brushing technique. There is no scientific evidence or research that proves ‘dry brushing’ technique is effective, so I decided to be my own research and tried it out for a month.
I was surprised to see that dry brushing not only the helped to reduce the appearance of cellulite but also had other benefits. Have listed some of them:
Removes dead skin
The most basic advantage of dry brushing is, it helps to remove dead skin. When you dry brush your skin, it acts as an exfoliation and triggers the cell renewal process, giving you healthy looking skin.
Detoxifies
Dry brushing stimulates the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is designed to help the body to get rid of toxins, waste and other unwanted materials. It transports waste to lymphatic nodes, which flushes the toxins out of our body and detoxifies us.
Increases blood flow
Dry brushing is done in an upward movement. It helps to increase circulation and blood flow throughout our body. Blood carries oxygen, it promotes cell growth and proper functioning of organs.
Energies you
As dry brushing increases blood flow and detoxifies the body, you feel more energetic. You may get addicted to dry brushing because it feels so good.
Dry brushing technique is very simple and can be done at home, you don’t need to go to Spa’s for that, you just need is the right brush and right technique.
Brush

Tip:Do dry brushing before the shower, some suggest to do before going to bed but please avoid that, as it stimulates your body you will not feel sleepy, it will keep you awake.
Technique
Do dry brushing in an upward movement, long strokes or circular upward movement. One long brush stroke followed by the palm of your hand to sooth the skin.
You can do the whole body brushing or just on targeted areas such as thighs, remember upward long strokes. Do not put much pressure, pressure should be firm but not deep. Brush lightly on stomach from waist to navel.
When you start feeling tingly go to next area.
If you have sensitive skin you can apply little oil to your body before brushing.
One should definitely add dry brushing in their daily routine, not just only to get rid of cellulite but to feel more energetic.
