So last fall I ordered a few rolls of Ferm Living’s Family Tree wallpaper for the portion of our dining room walls above the wainscoting. I tried putting it up myself and after about eight hours only had a six foot section up–and it was already becoming crooked. I basically became paralyzed with wallpaper fear. That was six months ago, which explains why you haven’t really seen many photos of my dining room.
This Saturday, bribed by the promise of superb grilled cheese sandwiches with roasted red pepper tomato soup for lunch, my parents came over to help with the wallpaper.
Not only did they help me fix the “fallen” trees that had become crooked, but we came up with a template that made it WAY easier to tackle all of the cutouts around the beams and doorway trims.
Around hour six, we felt like pros. And, by the end of the day we had about fifty percent of the room done!
So a GIANT ‘thank you’ to my parents, who through food, music and good company, made wallpapering fun.
XO,
Heather
