Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton) is going from vampire to Sound of Music according to Deadline. The British actor will tackle the iconic role of Georg von Trapp in a live production of the Sound of Music opposite Carrie Underwood that will air on NBC December 5.
von Trapp is the single father of 7 children who hires governess Maria to care for his children. The production will last three hours. Moyer is an experienced theater veteran who made his return to the stage after a long absence in Chicago at the Hollywood Bowl last month playing Billy Flynn.
