Steel Wheels x Steel Heels 2013 / Video Recap By Bench Warrant DVD

By Whatyouwrite @whatyouwrite

Steel Wheels is a tight knit network of enthusiasts devoted to preserving and celebrating the culture of aerosol art on trains. Beginning with the prolific masterpieces that colored the New York City Subways to their counterparts on the American Railroad that are now traveling from coast to coast.
For the 2013 installment of the Steel Wheels Art Exhibition a new element was added. The SW Crew introduced Steel Heels, the first exhibition of it’s kind featuring aerosol art on high heels and various styles of the women’s platform shoe. The video was filmed over four days during production and throughout the show. Multiple time lapses were shot with a Go Pro Black Edition. Additional stills and video were shot using a Nikon D600. Editing was completed with Final Cut Pro X.

From Steel Wheels:
To everyone far and wide who came out to support Steel Wheels & Steel Heels 2013, WE WANT TO SAY THANK YOU!!!! FROM THE STEEL WHEELS TEAM. To the hardcore graffiti heads (who respected our request to not tag the venue inside and out), the aficionados, the enthusiasts, people with heel fetishes and to the people who just genuinely love the culture and what we do. Extra maximums to Sam Flax, Montana Colors, Southern Star Tattoo, Virgil Kaine and all of the sponsors. But most of all, THANK YOU Nelson Street Gallery and The Goat Farm Arts Center for hosting and supporting us. You guys are truly a class act! Steel Wheels 2013 was the best one yet by many accounts – so now that means we gotta top that for 2014. Stay tuned and follow us on Facebook, Instagram and steelwheelsonline.com.
