Following in the footsteps of the TV-friendly Big Picture Steam mode, Valve aims at bringing sofa-gaming to a completely new level with a gamepad that provides you with the access to your whole Steam library. In other words, Valve wants you to play the likes of Civilization V and other mouse and keyboard titles with a gamepad on your TV screen. To achieve this, Valve designed a prototype Steam Controller, which comes with a couple of thumb-operated clickable trackpads and a touch-enabled surface between the two, complemented by a selection of buttons. Steam Controller will be available for beta-testing together with the upcoming Steam Machines hardware. You can also join in the Steam Universe community group to share your thoughts and concerns about the upcoming controller.
