Three suspects, who were arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department for stealing goods from President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s private residence, were remanded till September 21 by Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage yesterday.

Meanwhile, another suspect who allegedly bought a stolen statue from the said suspects, was released on bail.He was released on a surety of Rs.500,000.

The Criminal Investigation Department informed the Magistrate that further investigations are being conducted to identify the suspect who was allegedly brought a foreign liquor bottle from Prime Minister’s private residence to the protest site. Investigations have further revealed that the suspect had consumed this with the protesters later.
