When Sam Foster a psychiatrist takes over the case of Henry Letham he must attempt to stop him from committing suicide while attempting to keep a grip on his own reality.

From start to finish Stay is a very bizarre and strange film that attempts to shock constantly and gets the plot a little bit confusing in the process. That is something that I wasn’t really prepared for, some scenes are just too annoying to get fully into. The same with the characters they aren’t really all that likeable and quite frankly you have to care about them even a tiny little bit.
Everything about Henry and his stories towards Sam get more confusing and it is not really all that possible to decide what is the truth and what is a lie. Are his parents still alive or dead as he claims? Can he really predict the future, it just gets into some strange situations given that we aren’t sure as a viewer and it was too easy to lose track.
Obviously with the cast that was in this film I thought I would give it a chance, I mean young Ryan Gosling really did take on some rather off the wall roles and this was no different. Ewan McGregor acting opposite him was another reason I thought surely it will be ok. Then you also have Naomi Watts to complete the main casting, although I did feel as though Bob Hoskins in a supporting role was a bit of a scene stealer.
